3 Ideas For Making Your 2011 New Year’s Resolution
By Christopher Argent
We are all different, but we are surprisingly predictable when it comes to New Year resolutions.
Now let’s look at this from a different point of view, and let me ask you 3 questions that will help you make a new unique resolution that works.
1. What do you want to change now?
What is challenging you today, what is bothering you at the moment, what is getting up your nose this instant? and make a resolution about that. You are more likely to be successful and motivated by focusing on this immediate challenge.
2. What will happen if you change this?
Take a moment to look ahead, be it 1 week, 1 month, 1 year and imagine what your space, place, face will be like when you have cracked this resolution. See the cheering crowds, smell the celebratory coffee, feel that sense of achievement.
3. What is your first step to improvement?
“The longest journey starts with a single step”, find out what yours is and do it. Make sure it is small, manageable, immediate, and go do it! Right now! Make it happen, and then build on this small success…
Increase your likelihood of success by considering these questions, and take time to think. So clear your New Year celebration hangover, grab a coffee, and think about what is right for you.
We are all different, we all have different personalities, methods, and solutions, so ask yourself what resolution will work for you, and go after it with a spring in your step!
